An online exhibition by Omar
I spend most of my free time in bed, scrolling endlessly on Instagram’s Explore page and consuming whatever it thinks I might be interested in.
I made On Instagram one night in bed in the corner of my room. I feel like I can breathe when I’m alone. I think a lot when I lie down in silence. Fits of desperation, or a wave of sadness – I try my best to distract myself, but I know that it comes back.
On Instagram is a two-channel video which shows me scrolling through Instagram with an in sync screen recording of the feed.

Both TCB and the artist would like to acknowledge the people of the Kulin Nations as the traditional custodians of the land on which they live and work, recognising the Wurundjeri and Bunurong peoples’ enduring connection to land, waters and community. They pay their respects to Elders past, present and future.
